Meet the Representatives

The following is a summary as to what the roles are of the principle officers followed by a link to download the generic role profile for the representatives.

Chair

The role of the chair is to firstly chair the JBB and executive meetings of the organization, to ensure that the message of the Federation and where it stands on issues is taken to its membership locally and to ensure that the media strategy agreed with the board is delivered.

Also to be part of the structure to ensure that the Hertfordshire police Federation links in with the appropriate national structures of the Federation.

Secretary

The role of secretary is to manage the business of the Federation locally, to be the chief negotiator with the force. To ensure that the reps are kept appraised of the current issues and how to progress them.

Management of the organization means all matters of employment of Federation staff, ensuring that records are kept and cases progressed that relate to the members. As chief negotiator with the force ensuring that all matters pertaining to pay, conditions of service and force policy that have an impact upon the membership are agreed and are not to the detriment of the members as a whole.

Treasurer/Deputy Secretary

The role of the Treasurer is to control the finances of the Federation, to ensure that spending is carried out within fund rules and for the benefit of the members.

It is also to deputise for all matters pertaining to the secretary’s role.
